Day 1 at DUT Data Day : Excel Presentation
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) Data Day is about Knowing, Doing and Impacting. This workshop focused on the latest data analysis technologies. This event took place at DUT from the 28th to the 29th of August 2019.
Data is regarded as the new oil and to get the most out of your data it's important to understand a data analysis tool. There are several tools available that can be used for analysis and Microsoft Excel is the most common tool.
The DUT app factory presented a session on Analysing data using Microsoft excel. The session provided attendees with the following skillsets:
- Getting started on excel
- Types of data
- Functions and formulas for data analysis
- Data visualization through graphs and charts
The session was well attended by both the DUT staff members from different departments as well as students. Attendees found the presentation very informative and wished that there could be other sessions to learn more about data analysis.
